Ode to Catherine

So today was my friend Catherine's last day at Southwest Airlines. She took an early buy-out package that our Company offered that was just perfect for her and her family. I am so blessed to have worked with her for as long as I did. Even though over 30,000 people work for SWA, I know it's going to be lonely, lonely, lonely without her in this building!

Anyway, Catherine, here are just a few reasons why you are such an amazing person and we will always be friends...

You always keep me straight when I'm out of line.

You help me catch muffin theives! (Although I think you and I both know who did this all along!)

You help me turn my boss' office into a gym whenever I ask, thus completing the most epic office prank of the entire century.

You're always concerned about my floatation.

You're always up for an adventure.

You make a phenomenal back-up dancer.

You aren't afraid to climb into the wheel well of a 737 for sake of a good picture!

You know how to hug without hurting a sunburn.

You appreciate a nice hotel bathroom.

You love chocolate as much as I do!

You and Gwen introduced me to a certain husband of mine.

You were an amazing bridesmaid, and I was so blessed to share my special day with you!

You are a fabulous mommy. Really, one of the best, and you are always looking out for what's right for your family.

And I can think of no better reason to leave Southwest than this little guy!

Congratulations on your "retirement." All of your SWA friends miss you dearly, but we'll have our monthly lunch dates for sure. I love you, Cat!

Ok, girl. Big, big, BIG tears right now. Good thing I didn't see this earlier. I will miss you, too. We have had a fun ride together, but this doesn't mean the adventures have to end. We can still do lunch-time lunges and catch muffin capers. And, anytime you are ready to pull an office prank, I'm your partner in crime. Ok...tears. must. stop. LUV, Cat
PS: my doorstep is always available whenever you need to talk! I can even meet you at Grandpa T's.
